We recommend seeing these cities by boat and taking a week's navigation to explore more of the Dalmatian coast. You can begin in Split and navigate south to finish in Dubrovnik or vice versa.

Hotel Lone Istria

Crete is almost a country on its own and is a wonderful place to explore by car and by boat. A visit to Heraklion and Knossos is a must for the cultural traveller, while those interested in relaxing can head to the lovely Elounda Bay.

Crete Knossos

Spetses is just a couple of hours drive from Athens airport and is the perfect place to wind down. The old port is one of the most beautiful in Greece with its neo-classical villas and when it is time for dinner you can take a horse & cart (no cars allowed).

There are many archipelagos to choose from, but one of our favourites is the Ionian islands: there are Kephalonia’s elegant harbours, beautiful monasteries and medieval castles. Explore Corfu’s Venetian architecture, Parisian style arcades and the abundant wildlife made famous by Gerald Durrell. Ithaka is the island of myths and legend with incredible places to swim. Take a breath-taking cliff-top drive and visit the School of Homer. Visit Lefkada for its famous lace or Zakynthos for the sea water caves. Ionian cuisine is delicious and the islanders welcoming.

Clients often tell us that their private box at the Bolshoi ballet was a trip highlight. We can also show you behind the scenes.

Like St Petersburg, there are a host of hotels to choose from. We find a handful are head and shoulders above the rest and can advise.

Hotel Metropol Moscow

Moscow offers a range of exciting activities to give you a break from the culture. Whether it’s a Russian gourmet restaurant, spending a day in the Russian military or tasting the food they eat in space!

We also design tours to Maastricht and Rotterdam, which offer wonderful museums and architecture to explore.

Aachen buildings

Throughout the north and south of the country are some wonderful houses and gardens, from Het Loo, the summer residence of the Dutch royal family, to a host of private houses and gardens where we can arrange special access. There are also some very interesting contemporary gardens to visit.
